We build Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes. What this means is that the homes we build meet specific, verifiable efficiency and performance standards, providing you with comfortable living spaces during the cold winter months and saving you money on energy bills. The Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes program, based on the national Energy Star® Homes program, was adapted to meet Wisconsin's extreme weather conditions. It emphasizes issues beyond energy efficiency that impact a home's performance, such as combustion safety, durability, adequate ventilation and comfort. Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes, on average, are about 25% more efficient than a home built to Wisconsin's Uniform Dwelling Code. Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes conducts air tightness and ventilation system tests on every Wisconsin Energy Star® Home built. These tests are conducted and verified by trained consultants (Wisconsin's only recognized home energy rating providers). Each consultant is trained in high performance construction techniques and the latest technologies and building methods. They visit each site during construction, so they can offer on-site technical assistance. Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes provides a computerized simulation of each home's projected annual energy use. Then, they assess the costs and energy-saving benefits of feature upgrades, such as different windows, insulating systems, or adjusting a home's orientation on it's site. Wisconsin Energy Star® Homes also generates Uniform Dwelling Code Compliance reports, created with the rating paperwork. No additional information is required for UDC code compliance.
